Dr Rosine Z. Wolie

Public health research scientist in vector biology, genetics and malaria control

Abidjan and Bouaké, Côte d'Ivoire

Turning entomological and genetic evidence into public health action.

Resistance, written in the genes

In wild Anopheles gambiae from central Côte d'Ivoire, she tracks the kdr and Ace-1 mutations that let mosquitoes survive insecticides, and tests whether they change malaria transmission.

From Bouaké to a research network

Field evidence from Côte d'Ivoire feeds multi-centre trials with Cameroon and Tanzania, partnerships in the United Kingdom and Thailand, and scientific meetings from Kigali and Nairobi to Toronto and Crete.
